Novice operator Krabi Airlines, has now announced it is preparing for its inaugural flight - direct from Norway - on 30 August this year.
The Oslo - Krabi flight on a Boeing 474-300 will operate twice weekly; to be followed by a twice weekly flight from Munich. Market research conducted by the airline has shown these two cities to be the most popular departure points to Krabi in Europe.
Whether the market is there for regular scheduled flights - the airline has said it will not offer any charters or budget fares - remains to be seen. Krabi Airlines describes it's target group as the higher end of the market and business travellers. The airline still plans to expand into the UK and other European countries in the next few years.
