Long Beach (Had Yao) is a beach in Krabi Province. It is one of the last untouched beaches in the province and for some even spectacular with its views of Koh Jum Mountain, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Poda, Koh Gai (Chicken Island), and Railay’s cliff walls in the far distance.
Long Beach (Had Yao) (sometimes spelt Haad Yao) is a very unspoilt beach area of Krabi, probably the last. Development has not yet taken off here and the luxury villas in the area are taking advantage of this by enjoying the most unspoilt beach in southern Thailand.
The beach itself is 7km in length and doesn’t have the rocky outcrops like some beaches in Krabi and Koh Lanta. For those looking for a relaxing beach holiday break, you won’t go far wrong here! The beach is by far the central feature to this area. At 7km long in a straight line, the beach is unspoilt with little to no development. For people looking for a virgin beach, this is where to come!
Other things to see are the fishing villages to the north and south of Had Yao beach and the attractive mountains 1km inland. Beach activities rule here in Had Yao. A morning stroll along the very long beach is enough to set you up for relaxing by the pool for the rest of the day! A local fresh produce market is held in the area once a week.
There is a western run restaurant Mor Annas Bar & Restaurant in the center of the beach road that serves Thai and western food and even beer! To the north and south of the beach road there is a locally run seafood restaurant with fresh seafood.
The largest presence in Long Beach (Had Yao) are a range of private villas (KrabiSunset) run by a local Thai lady Khun Yoon and her Swedish husband. They have over 10 years experience in the area and run a holiday villa resort 700m from the beach as well as luxury properties along the beachfront.
All properties are bookable online via KrabiSunset, Agoda, Booking.com or Airbnb, who seem to be managing the customer service side of things. The area is very close to Krabi International Airport (25-minutes) and (30-minutes) to Hot Spring and Sa Marokot (Emerald Pool). Pakasai Country Club, the largest 18-hole course in Krabi is just 15-minutes away from here. Ao Nang is about 45-minutes away for those who want more nightlife.
Boat trips to the neighboring islands are easily arranged from Long Beach (Had Yao) and there is a local ferry to Ko Sri Boya island and Koh Jum.
